Proximan Decapod

Proximan decapod harpoonists are a semi-nomadic people of the Great Salt Marsh. Moving seasonally up and down a string of permanent coastal settlements, the harpoonists follow the annual migration routes of the marsh Bellua which are there primary prey. In recent times, technology has found its way to the hunters, replacing their simpler harpoons with pneumatic harpoon guns, but the hunting methods follow largely the same ancient formula. The individual depicted here displays glyphs painted on its shell, each line commemorating a great deed in a past hunt.
